Product Description

Note: Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle.

Note: Do not depress the brake pedal during procedure.

 

  1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. (Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the postion just shy of starting your car.)
  2. Within 20 seconds press any button on the first keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. If you only have one remote then skip to step 4.
  3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. Repeat step 3. for all other remotes.
  4. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

    Easy as 8 times off to run push button on remote , key to off and that's it. It was all done by my 7 tear old grand daughter

    As stated in a previous review, With my 04 Mountaineer,I found that the procedures given at eKeylessRemotes lacks these two crucial steps.Once you get into you Mountaineer 2004, close the door, put the key in the ignition, then, lock and unlock your SUV using the button at your driver's side door. Once you have done this, then you can turn the key in the ignition 8 times as stated in procedures found in this website. Worked great.

    I needed a new remote because my old one broke and would no longer fit on keyring, purchased new remote and followed instructions to program, that failed, read posts and did door lock/unlock/seat belt on and that failed, got my original remote, then I started procedure again, I did lock/unlock/seat belt on/then 8 times to run, then everything worked like it should, the problem I had was with old remote, new remote must copy signal from it to activate.
